Step into the profound, centuries-old world of authentic Kyoto tea lineage. Produced by the historical master artisans at Izuen Meicha Honpo, located in the very heart of tea culture—Uji Renge, Kyoto (right near the famous Byodoin Temple)—"Hatsu-Mukashi" (初昔) is a highly revered, premium selection. Crafted from 100% pure, single-ingredient green tea leaves harvested from rigorously shaded stone-fields, this top-tier matcha is stone-milled into an extraordinarily fine, vibrant emerald powder. It features a breathtakingly deep jade color, a perfectly balanced, cream-like umami body, and an exquisitely clean, calm aroma that instantly sharpens and relaxes the mind.
This exquisite tea comes packaged inside a premium, freshness-locked 30g steel tin, which is beautifully nestled inside an elegant, vibrant green and gold traditional gift box. It is highly versatile and smooth enough to be enjoyed as a comforting bowl of traditional hot tea (Usucha), while providing a rich, magnificent green tea profile that pairs beautifully with milk and sweeteners for an elite, cafe-style matcha au lait.
🎁 Important Note Regarding Packaging Layout:
The beautiful outer box features a classic Japanese design adorned with minimalist, elegant calligraphy and stylized tea leaf motifs.

🥄 Traditional & Modern Preparation Guide
🍵 1. Traditional Hot Matcha (Usucha):
• Sift 1.5g to 2g (approx. 1 level teaspoon) of matcha into a pre-warmed ceremonial tea bowl.
• Pour in 60ml to 80ml of hot water (strictly cooled to around 80°C / 176°F to protect the delicate, sweet amino acids from scalding).
• Whisk rapidly and vigorously in an "M" or "W" motion using a fine-pronged bamboo whisk (chasen) from the bottom of the bowl until a beautiful, dense layer of velvety micro-foam forms across the surface.
🥛 2. Silk-Smooth Matcha Au Lait (Matcha Latte):
• Mix 2g of powder with a small splash of warm water (80°C) and stir thoroughly to create a lump-free green concentrate.
• Pour in 150ml of warm frothed milk (or ice-cold milk with ice cubes for a refreshing iced latte) and add your favorite sweetener to taste.
