About us
The Roots of Harmony

I was born and raised near Yame, one of Japan’s most prestigious tea-growing regions. From a young age, I was immersed in the world of Sado (the Way of Tea), where the aroma and warmth of matcha became an essential part of my personal landscape.
As a certified Master of the Koto (traditional Japanese harp) in the Ikuta School Chikushikai, I have spent much of my life embodying the aesthetics of Japanese tradition. For me, the Koto and Matcha are inseparable pillars of culture—both demanding a deep sense of harmony and presence in the moment.
A Discovery Beyond Borders

My career as a wine professional has taken me across the globe, allowing me to experience diverse culinary cultures. Years of analyzing the intricate aromas and flavors of wine have sharpened my palate to a professional degree.
However, during my travels abroad, I was deeply saddened to discover the reality of the global "Matcha" market. I witnessed many products labeled as "Matcha" that were of poor quality, or worse, not even produced in Japan.
Facing the true, authentic matcha of Japan again with a refined palate, I was struck by its delicate umami and vibrant energy. At that moment, I felt a profound sense of mission: "As someone who carries the weight of Japanese tradition, I must share the honest, proud culture nurtured near my hometown with the rest of the world." This realization became the starting point of Japaneseteamatcha.
