Ryoanji Temple in Kyoto

Finding Peace in "Chisoku": Zen, Matcha, and the Beauty of Enough.

Visiting Ryoanji Temple in Kyoto.
As I gaze at the famous rock garden with its 15 stones, I find myself reflecting on the Zen teaching carved into the stone washbasin here: "Ware Tada Taru wo Shiru" (I only know contentment).

The garden is designed so that no matter where you stand, you can never see all 15 stones at once. It’s a reminder to embrace imperfection and to appreciate the fullness of what is right in front of us.
This Zen philosophy feels so connected to the act of preparing a bowl of Matcha.

The deep green hue, the calming aroma, and the focused rhythm of the whisk—it all brings me back to the present.
In a world that constantly tells us we need "more," this bowl of tea whispers that we are already "enough."

Taking a moment to step away from the noise, and savoring the richness of the here and now.

What’s one thing you feel grateful for today?
