"Cinderella Story" has a Japanese equivalent?
I’m currently in the Nishiyama area of Kyoto, exploring temples restored by Keishoin, a woman who rose from a humble grocer’s daughter to the mother of a Shogun in the 17th century. Her incredible journey is known as the "Tama-no-koshi" (Lucky Streak) legend.
She wasn't just a powerful figure; she was a patron of the arts who helped shape the golden age of Matcha culture under the Shogun’s protection. Standing here among the cherry blossoms she once cherished, I feel a deep connection to the history of the tea I share with you all. 🍵✨
Walking through these "Sky Gardens" at Yoshiminedera Temple reminds me that beauty and success are built on heritage and heart.
